The 1st HS-DSS (Heritage Science Doctorate Summer School) will be held virtually from 13 July to 16 July 2021. It is aimed at providing examples of excellence in Heritage Science for conservation and collection care research and access. The HS-DSS will be taught online ( all sessions will be conducted in English) and comprise four intensive days of lectures and virtual study visits, during which participants will become acquainted with the multidisciplinary skills of the IPERION HS consortium and knowledge accumulated by the partners.

Matija Strlič – Professor of Heritage Science Matija Strlič is Professor of Analytical Chemistry at University of Ljubljana and Professor of Heritage Science at University College London. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and of the International Institute for Conservation. His role in the IPERION HS Academy is to enable the development of a vibrant user community.
Jana Striová – Heritage Scientist Jana Striová is Heritage Scientist at Italian National Research Council, with academic background in Analytical Chemistry and Material Science, as well as in Science for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage and Management of Research Infrastructures. She coordinates the team developing an integrated and user-oriented approach to access the IPERION HS facilities and the training events for the Heritage Science community.
The UCL Institute of Sustainable Heritage celebrates 20 years and will host the Sustainable Heritage Bidecennial Conference. It will take place over four days from 22-25 March 2021, starting at 5 PM CET each day.

JPI on Cultural Heritage has released his new Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) and it would be presented in a virtual event – Kickoff & Networking Session with the presence of speakers from the European Comission and University College London.

A reflective heritage for a resilient society: – This Priority Area focuses on cultural heritage as an empowering force and a collective good for society

Cultural heritage in a changing context. – This Priority Area focuses on urban and rural development, globalisation, demographic change and tourism and will explore both the positive and the negative implications for cultural heritage
Cultural heritage facing climate change and environmental change. This Priority Area focuses on the impact of climate and environmental changes on cultural and natural heritage and how cultural and natural heritage could be as resource for Sustainable Development.

El Ayuntamiento de Madrid, en colaboración con la Comunidad de Madrid y el apoyo del Ministerio de Cultura, ha impulsado la candidatura del Paseo del Prado y Buen Retiro. Paisaje de las Artes y las Ciencias para formar parte de la lista del Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO.
La Plataforma Temática Interdisciplinar Patrimonio Abierto: Investigación y Sociedad (PTI-PAIS) del CSIC apoya esta candidatura y está representada en el órgano de debate y elaboración de propuestas del Consejo Cívico y Social. Comparte este órgano con representantes de variedad de sectores de la sociedad e integrantes de la candidatura. También comparte órgano con otros centros del CSIC: el Real Jardín Botánico, el Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales, el Centro de Ciencias Humanas y Sociales (CCHS), el Centro de Automática y Robótica (CAR) y el Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Metalúrgicas (CENIM).

La candidatura incluye el Paseo del Prado y el Parque del Retiro, con su correspondiente entorno, y se presenta como propuesta para formar parte de esta lista en calidad de Paisaje Cultural, un paisaje modelado por el hombre a lo largo de la historia con un valor excepcional.

La candidatura está pendiente de la evaluación por parte de los informes evaluadores del Consejo Internacional de Monumentos y Sitios, ICOMOS.

El III Congreso de Conservación y Restauración del Patrimonio Metálico organizado por el Museo Nacional de Arqueología Subacuática (ARQVA) de Cartagena, el Laboratorio SECYR, Servicio de Conservación y Estudios Científicos del Patrimonio Arqueológico y la Real Casa de la Moneda de la Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre ha sido aplazado al 22, 23 y 24 de abril.
Este año será virtual tras tener que ser cancelado por las circunstancias sanitarias.
III Congreso de Conservación y Restauración del Patrimonio Metálico – MetalEspaña 2020 – Organizado por Laboratorio SECYR, el Museo Nacional de Arqueología Subacuática (ARQVA) y la Real Casa de la Moneda de la Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre.
