PTI-PAIS recibe su primera evaluación en la fase de implementación

Las Plataformas Temáticas Interdisciplinares (PTIs) son un instrumento de investigación e innovación creadas a partir del Plan Estratégico CSIC 2021, para abordar retos multidisciplinares de alto impacto científico, económico y social.

Están integradas por grupos de investigación de distintos centros y especialidades del CSIC y abiertas a la participación de empresas, administración, otras instituciones y agentes sociales.

Recientemente se ha realizado la valoración de los informes del primer seguimiento, de la fase de implementación, de las PTIs por parte del Comité Científico Asesor y del Consejo Rector del CSIC aprobándose 12 PTIs entre las que se encuentra la Plataforma Patrimonio Abierto: Investigación y Sociedad (PTI-PAIS). En los informes se han tenido en cuenta la valoración de los indicadores definidos para la consecución de los retos propuestos, Relevancia, Capacidades, Avances en el Plan/Gestión y Resultados, obteniendo la PTI-PAIS una puntuación de 91/100.

La PTI-PAIS ocupa un puesto muy relevante y favorable para la continuidad de sus objetivos: afrontar la conservación y difusión del patrimonio cultural material mediante la investigación científico-técnica innovadora e interdisciplinar.

Documental de difusión de la conservación del Patrimonio Cultural

Los alumnos de 3º de la ESO del Colegio Lagomar, en colaboración con la PTI-PAIS, han realizado un documental con técnicas cinematográficas sobre la difusión de la conservación del Patrimonio Cultural, donde se realizan entrevistas a diferentes científicos e investigadores, a entidades dedicadas a la conservación del patrimonio y también se recoge la opinión de la calle.

La finalidad de dicho documental es concienciar a las nuevas generaciones de la importancia de la conservación y protección del Patrimonio Cultural, ya que es una herencia que forma parte de nuestra identidad como sociedad.

Con esta actividad de la Comisión TESEO, materializada por docentes y alumnos del Colegio Lagomar, se ha alcanzado el objetivo de visibilizar los conocimientos e investigaciones de la PTI-PAIS desde el ámbito de la educación.

Retos y oportunidades para el patrimonio cultural en tiempos de COVID, 03 julio 16:00 – 17:00 CET (hora Central Europea)

Como parte de la serie de conferencias del ICCROM: Voces Globales: Patrimonio y Pandemias, llevada a cabo dentro el marco de la iniciativa Patrimonio en Tiempos de COVID, un último seminario virtual en español se centrará en las experiencias vividas en varios países latinoamericanos, incluyendo Chile, Honduras, Guatemala, así como España. Este seminario está dedicado a la audiencia hispanohablante, con especial atención a la región de América Latina, para compartir y discutir los retos actuales, lecciones aprendidas y potenciales soluciones para enfrentarse a la crisis del COVID-19 desde la perspectiva del patrimonio cultural.

La región de América Latina y el Caribe está experimentando actualmente una crecida en el número de casos de COVID, lo que está impactando a la mayoría de los países y sus economías. El sector del patrimonio cultural no está a salvo, e igualmente se está viendo afectado con la clausura de sitios patrimoniales, la cancelación de tradiciones y celebraciones, y la importante repercusión económica sufrida por el sector turismo. Profesionales de distintos países compartirán sus experiencias, discutirán oportunidades invitando a la audiencia a reflexionar sobre sus propias situaciones y retos, y presentarán la red internacional que ofrece recursos informativos, referencias y apoyo, para juntos enfrentar la crisis.

European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards 2021, deadline 1st October 2020 (date of sending)

The Europa Nostra Awards are granted annually to identify and promote best practices in the conservation of tangible and intangible cultural heritage, to stimulate the trans-frontier exchange of knowledge and experience throughout Europe, to enhance public awareness and appreciation of Europe’s cultural heritage, and to encourage further excellent initiatives through the power of example.

Outstanding heritage achievements are awarded in the following categories:
● Conservation
● Research
● Dedicated Service to Heritage
● Education, Training and Awareness-raising

Entries can be related to tangible, intangible or digital heritage.

They can be ranging on a scale from small to large, from local to European and international.
Criteria for the assessment and selection of entries include: excellence in the work executed and preliminary research conducted; respect for artistic, cultural and social value, setting, authenticity, integrity, sustainability and positive contribution to climate action as well as the European dimension of the entry. The following aspects will also be evaluated: innovation, interpretation and presentation, educational work, funding and management, social responsibility, and audience development.

The Europa Nostra Awards will honour up to 30 outstanding heritage achievements from all parts of Europe every year. The number of awards each year will depend on the quality and quantity of entries received.
One winner will also receive the Public Choice Award following an online vote conducted via the Europa Nostra website.

In addition, two ILUCIDARE Special Prizes will be awarded from among
the submitted applications by the ILUCIDARE Jury. ILUCIDARE is an EUfunded project with the aim of fostering heritage-led innovation and international relations. As part of this project, the ILUCIDARE Special Prizes will identify and promote best practices in heritage-led innovation and international relations. Awarded projects will receive either a Europa Nostra Award or an ILUCIDARE Special Prize.

LVII Congreso Nacional de la Sociedad Española de Cerámica y Vidrio, Castellón 26-29 Octubre 2020

El LVII Congreso Nacional de la Sociedad Española de Cerámica y Vidrio tendrá lugar, por primera vez, en la ciudad de Castellón. La importancia de la cerámica industrial en la provincia de Castellón es de sobra conocida por todos. En los alrededores de esta ciudad se concentra la práctica totalidad del sector de fabricación de baldosas cerámicas español, líder europeo y segundo exportador mundial. Se trata pues de la capital de la cerámica y una excelente sede para la organización del congreso. Las actividades tendrán lugar en las instalaciones de la Universitat Jaume I, una universidad joven pero ya perfectamente integrada en la sociedad de Castellón y, por ende, una especial vinculación con el tejido industrial cerámico.

Para flexibilizar la participación a todos los congresistas, sin importar la circunstancia, y sobre todo para mantener la seguridad de todos, hemos creado varias modalidades de inscripción, que van desde la asistencia híbrida, hasta on line, manteniendo la inscripción estándar. Online seminar: Heritage and Sustainability in Post COVID-19 World – Building Back Better, 2nd July 14:00-15:00 (Rome, Italy)

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced us to confront critical questions and decisions concerning our future and the role of cultural heritage in it. Looking ahead, the post COVID-19 phase provides an opportunity to ‘build back better’ by rethinking and further strengthening the role of heritage in sustainable development, in line with the UN 2030 agenda. Nevertheless, this will require the heritage sector to reconsider its position and proactively take concrete steps to advance social, environmental, and economic sustainability. The webinar will address this issue, with particular focus on museums and their collections.

Summer School: Museums and the Sustainable Development Goals, 24-27th August Rotterdam

From Monday 24th to Thursday 27th of August 2020 the Centre for Global Heritage and Development organises a summer school. We will visit different museums to learn what their contribution is to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. The SDGs are more urgent than ever as the corona crisis has shown how fragile the foundations of our societal structures are. Many governments and organisations are actively working towards the fulfilment of these goals and especially museums have instigated exciting new developments and initiatives.

Each museum has its own approach and priorities, these will be presented and discussed by curators and other museum staff. Participants are also expected to participate actively through critical questions and discussion.

Given the current corona crisis and the lack of hands-on education, this summer school is both a stepping stone to the new academic year, an opportunity to network and of course a unique educational experience that is not offered by existing courses.

Webinar: Materials Science for Built Heritage Conservation, 30th June

The webinar is part of «Technical Tuesdays: technical conservation webinars», organized by Historic England’s Technical Conservation Team.

In particular, this webinar will explore the contribution of materials science to the conservation of built heritage. It will explain how scientific techniques carried out in the laboratory or on site can be used to learn more about material composition and causes of decay, and how this can inform repair strategies and specifications. Some of the challenges and limitations to be aware of when commissioning materials science work will be described. An overview of the setup of pilot-sites to assess conservation treatments in historic buildings, and the role of materials science in the development of innovative conservation treatments will also be presented.

Presented by Francesca Gherardi, materials scientist at Historic England, and Alison Henry, Head of Building Conservation & Geospatial Survey at Historic England.

The webinar will take place next Tuesday (30.06.2020).
