Hoy se han reunido los Grupos de Investigación del CSIC (GIs) de la PTI-PAIS, en su 2ª reunión de coordinación, para tratar el seguimiento de la plataforma en su primer año de vida.
La PTI-PAIS está compuesta por 10 Grupos de investigación del CSIC procedentes de las tres áreas globales de conocimiento de la institución: Sociedad, Materia y Vida.

The 2nd Workshop on the connection of ESFRI Research Infrastructures (RIs) to the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC),«Research Infrastructures shaping EOSC» will take place on 6 & 7th October 2020 in online format.
The main objective of the workshop is to bring together ESFRI, ESFRI RIs and EOSC stakeholders, in order to showcase and better comprehend the EOSC concept and value proposition for its users, and ensure the optimal federation of ESFRI clusters/ RIs with EOSC. The latest developments on the EOSC next phase governance and the technical areas will be presented, so that the thematic infrastructures can actively contribute and provide feedback to the on-going dialogue, being able to take informed decisions.
The workshop is organised by the ESFRI Task Force on EOSC, the EOSC Cluster projects, the EOSC Secretariat and the StR-ESFRI2 Project, in close cooperation with ESFRI and the EC.
The event will be recorded and will include breakout sessions for feedback from the community. The plenary sessions will be open to accommodate wide participation. However, due to limited capacity of the breakout sessions, the attendance will be limited to one (1) person per National Delegation/ Project/ Landmark/ Organisation. This is mainly to facilitate discussion and effective feedback in these sessions.
Registration is mandatory, and should be done via the online form by the 25th of September.

Dear Colleagues,
Many wrote about stained glass, but one must witness its splendour to understand the meaning of the words, the game of light and shadow, with coloured and colourless glass decorated with painted motifs. However, historic stained glass windows are exposed to the passage of time, facing physical attack and weathering conditions over time. Further changes introduced by restorations, reconstructions and interventions along with the degradation have a strong impact on the stained glass windows that we see today. Fortunately, scientific and technological advancements give, now, new and wider opportunities for preserving, sharing cultural heritage and better interpret its history, both in terms of manufacturing and past restoration actions.
A Special Issue welcoming contributions that are dedicated to major research themes related to “Stained Glass: Materials, Methods, and Expressions” is proposed. We invite both reviews, providing an up-to-date and critical overview of state-of-the-art, and original research articles dealing with:
This Special Issue will also be open to contributions dealing with other subjects related to the major research themes mentioned above.

The international conference “Critical heritage studies and the future of Europe” will mark the CHEurope project’s conclusion and allow the presentation to the wider scientific community of the results obtained during more than 4 years of collaborative research.
The 15 Early Stage Researchers funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network, the members of the academic staffs having supervised the training and research activities, as well as various highly renowned international keynote speakers will offer a renewed vision of the place that cultural heritage occupies in our societies and the role it can play in its future developments. A perspective whose topicality has suddenly and dramatically been highlighted by the Covid-19 pandemic. From migrations to climate change, from the heritagization of the urban to digitality as a vector of communication and transmission of cultural heritage, and from the use of heritage as a therapy for improving psychological resilience and well-being to the interconnections between heritage, citizenship, policy, participation, politics and economy, the conference’s program explores the multiple ontologies through which cultural heritage redraws the future of Europe and the world.
The conference will take place during 2 days, on the 15th and 16th October 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the consequent funding and travel restrictions, it has been decided to hold the conference as a fully online Zoom webinar, freely accessible within the limits of available accounts.

In response to the current global threats to world heritage that call for urgency in developing comprehensive heritage protection strategies, the National and University Library in Zagreb is organising the international conference “Solidarity in culture: Heritage protection under conditions of crisis”, in Zagreb, from 18 to 20 March 2021.
The conference is taking place at the National and University Library in Zagreb. The organizers have recognized the synergetic benefits of the solidarity networks of cultural institutions, yielding the most effective and immediate results in prevention, response and recovery efforts in culture, adding towards the existing general emergency services support.
The aims of the conference are to facilitate understanding and dialogue about new approaches to integrated conservation and risk management based on solidarity and cooperation between diverse partners that provide potential for resilience-building to disasters. The Language of the conference is English.

En octubre de 2003 la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Educación, la Ciencia y la Cultura (UNESCO) proclamó en la “Carta para la preservación del Patrimonio Digital”:
“El patrimonio digital consiste en recursos únicos que son fruto del saber o la expresión de los seres humanos. Comprende recursos de carácter cultural, educativo, científico o administrativo e información técnica, jurídica, médica y de otras clases, que se generan directamente en formato digital o se convierten a éste a partir de material analógico ya existente. Los productos “de origen digital” no existen en otro formato que el electrónico.”
El objetivo principal del curso seminario “Patrimonio Cultural Digital: Retos y Oportunidades” es presentar una visión general e integrada del PCD en la actualidad, así como las principales tendencias de futuro. El medio para ello es la presentación en tres grandes bloques temáticos de los casos concretos, muchos de ellos actualmente en curso, de distintas organizaciones públicas y privada líderes en sus respectivos ámbitos. Tanto a nivel europeo, como nacional y gallego.

Possibilities for a future education system in conservation, collaboration of institutes at international level and new expansions for cultural heritage perception. Managing remote working practice is a challenge facing us all and even without the COVID-19 crisis, we need to look at the benefits and options of digital learning. As we know, being in a historic building or at a significant site is a fundamentally different experience from seeing pictures on a screen, what can we do about it?

Europa Nostra es la Voz Europea de la Sociedad Civil comprometida con el Patrimonio Cultural, así como la principal ONG dedicada al patrimonio en Europa. Durante la conferencia descubriremos los arduos esfuerzos de Europa Nostra para situar el patrimonio cultural en el lugar que le corresponde: en el corazón del renacimiento de Europa. Esto es particularmente oportuno en un momento en el que Europa -y el resto del mundo- se encuentra sumergida en una profunda crisis sanitaria con importantes implicaciones económicas, sociales y culturales.

Lorena Aldana, Coordinadora de Políticas Europeas en la oficina de Europa Nostra en Bruselas, es una profesional del patrimonio oriunda de México. Anteriormente, formó parte del equipo encargado de la implementación del Año Europeo del Patrimonio Cultural 2018 en la Comisión Europea, Dirección General de Educación y Cultura.
En el pasado, fue consultora en temas de cultura y patrimonio para la Organización para la Cooperación y el Desarrollo Económico (OCDE).

La Plataforma Temática Interdisciplinar Patrimonio Abierto: Investigación y Sociedad (PTI-PAIS) en colaboración con las asociaciones ACRE, ARESPA, CRAC, CRG y GE-IIC organizan el I Encuentro de transferencia tecnológica en Patrimonio Cultural, en formato virtual, el próximo 8 de octubre de 2020.
El objetivo del encuentro es fomentar la colaboración público-privada y el desarrollo de posibles sinergias en el campo de la conservación del patrimonio cultural material, a través de un evento de networking entre grupos de investigación, empresas e instituciones con reuniones virtuales previamente programadas.

El Grupo Español de Conservación GE-IIC organiza el 1er simposio internacional on-line Reflejos de Arte Urbano y público, con las universidades de Jaén y Monterrey. El simposio tendrá lugar durante tres jueves sucesivos que comenzó el pasado 3 de septiembre.
En la primera sesión, la mesa redonda ha estado coordinada por Fernando Figueroa Saavedra, Dr. en Historia del Arte y uno de los más reconocidos especialistas en el estudio del graffiti. Han participado, Elena García Gayo, Conservadora-Restauradora y pionera en el estudio del arte urbano desde el punto de vista de las posibilidades de conservación y Adris Díaz Fernández, Dra. en Historia del Arte y docente de la Universidad de Monterrey.
El tema de la primera jornada giró alrededor de la entrada del graffiti y arte urbano en la esfera académica, las primeras propuestas de conservación y el impacto del muralismo en la sociedad. Tres puntos de partida para entender las claves de unas manifestaciones artísticas callejeras en las que una de ellas ha llegado en una época de grave crisis económica y ha terminado por profesionalizarse, quizá para desaparecer.
El próximo jueves, 10 de septiembre, tendrá lugar la segunda sesión coordinada por Laura Luque, Dra. en Historia del Arte y docente de la universidad de Jaén, hablará sobre la complejidad y diversidad de la realidad actual en torno a expresiones artísticas urbanas. Sandra Gracia Melero, Historiadora del Arte y Restauradora, planteará las diferentes aportaciones de los Conservadores Restauradores a la conservación del arte urbano y el graffiti. Y Ana Lizeth Mata Delgado, Restauradora del INAH de México, presentará las características del proyecto URBARTE de la ciudad de México. Las tres ponentes son miembros activos del grupo de trabajo de Arte Urbano del GEIIC.
